Literature Review

The literature review examined the effects of HIV/AIDS on children living in developing countries by using several different literature sources. The report was completed for a professional writing course, but many of the articles used in this literature review have also been used in other research that I have done. The abstract of the review has been attached below to give an example of the writing.

Different skills demonstrated by the piece:

  • Pull out important information from several articles in a database
  • Summarize data into overarching themes
  • Write for an academic context

Since global maternal and child health is one of my main research interests, this article allowed me to find information that will be useful for research in the future. The review allowed me to gain further knowledge on a topic that I am very interested in, and see why there is need for further research in this area.
